Is your business stuck?

As a business owner you may someday face the time that your business is stuck. It has reached a plateau, the air is getting thinner, and it is harder for you to take the next step. This stickiness is not unusual for any business to find itself in. You may have a loyal customer base and they love what you offer, but your sales are steady with little increase in sight. There is nothing wrong with this stickiness if that is what you want.

During a recent conversation I had with an established business owner he told me his business has reached the "stuck spot" and he is struggling to get to the next peak. He explained how he was marketing his business in the same manner with little results.

I suggested to him that to get to the next peak he needed to grab a fresh breath of air with 3 key movements:

• Goal Selection – determining the right goal for the direction you want to move your business.

• Market Analysis – allowing yourself to get clear on where your business has the greatest opportunities and effectiveness.

• Action – utilizing the right maps and tools to guide the way.

He had not thought of his struggle in that way. This is not unusual. We are often so involved in our businesses that sometimes we forget to take a breath of fresh air. Sometimes all it takes is a little guidance to show you the tools you need to get the right foothold.

So, are you reaching that "stuck spot"?
