A Unique Selling Proposition with Harmony

Tonight I will be speaking at the Women Business Center's Roundtable in Portsmouth, NH. The topic will be about creating a unique selling proposition (USP) with harmony.

A USP is how you differentiate your business from your competition in today's mega messaging environment. It is a means of communicating your business from the customer's perspective and begins building your relationship with them. For small businesses, customers want to know who you are, what you do and how you can help them. Once they discover you and your products and services and you establish a relationship they often find they can go nowhere else to get what you offer because what you offer is unique to them. A USP message that is easily understood and has strong meaning to your customer will help separate you from your competition and is one of the first tools in building the relationship.

It is my belief that a USP with harmony connects with your customers in a deeper and more meaningful manner. Without it, you will not have the base, the core, and the foundation of how you serve them. I like to use the analogy of a tree when describing growing a USP with harmony. A tree has 3 main parts that form it, the roots, the trunk and the branches to make it whole. Without the root system, it cannot survive. So, your root system, your heart and soul, creates the harmony.
