Hummingbird Marketing
I am constantly reading and experiencing the increasing demand on we small business owners to undertake marketing tactics that I like to compare to the speed of a diving ruby-throated hummingbird; 63 mph (101 kph). Everything from guerilla marketing to the latest social media marketing we are supposed to have the precision of a hummingbird in capturing our customer's attention.
So, how are we supposed to do marketing?
Breathe, Exhale, Be Mindful.
When I find I'm flapping my wings at 52 beats per second I step back and take a deep breath, to become grounded again. Taking that deep breath I am able to evaluate where I am in with my customers. Exhaling allows me to realize where I need to go with my business and for my customers. Being mindful gets me reconnected with my customers and allows me to better understand where they are coming from and what they need from me.
Being mindful gives me the source to become more aware of my customers and how to effectively market to them without flying as fast as the little ruby guy.
